Biography:
I was born in the small town of Lewisburg, West Virginia. When I was fifteen years old my family moved to Westminster, Maryland where I attended Carroll Christian Schools. In November of 1995 my cousin invited me and one of my friends to attend services at Church of the Open Door in Westminster. We accepted begrudgingly, but I am glad that I did. That night I realized that I was a sinner headed straight for Hell and in need of a Savior. I then put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ who paid the penalty for my sin.
During the next 4 years God worked on my heart to become a pastor. I then started working in the children's ministries, The Living Cross, the church orchestra where I met Pastor Walsh, and with the youth. During that time I met my wife Brandi. She grew up in Carroll County and had gone to Church of the Open Door for many years. I tricked her into working at the Summer Stomp, a camp for children, as a counselor. After the week was over she finally realized that I had a crush on her.
The next few years I spent my time at college. I attended Tennessee Temple University, Crown College, and finally graduated from Bethany Divinity College and Seminary. Brandi and I were married on May 24, 2002.
For the next five years I taught High School Bible at Carroll Christian Schools. During that time Brandi and I had our first child. Brooke was born in January 2005. I continued to teach but was longing to be what I was called to be...a preacher. At the end of my 5th year of teaching I received a phone call from my friend and previous youth pastor, Pastor Curtis King. I accepted the position of children's pastor and was excited about working in the ministry. Right before beginning my ministry at Granite Baptist Church, Brandi and I received another child from the Lord. Brody was born in May 2007.
After much prayer and consideration the Lord placed on my heart to head into the direction of being a youth pastor. I love children but teenagers are also on my heart. The World today is in need of people that will work with the youth and point them in the direction of Jesus Christ. After a phone call from Pastor Sterling Walsh I knew that the Lord was leading in that direction even more. Upon much prayer and direction Brandi and I moved our ministry to Lighthouse Baptist Church in December of 2008. In September of 2009, the Lord again blessed us with a baby boy, Brenden.
I am looking forward to what God has in store for the youth here at Lighthouse Baptist Church. I hope that the Lord will lead you and your family to come worship here with us. May the Lord Bless you richly.
