Next we Connect with each other in group. In the group you will meet your group leader, work on curriculum and receive peer support. Last you will connect with yourself during the week to study God’s word and find victory over your stronghold. Come join us where you will receive love, encouragement, and support as you begin your journey of victory

We meet every Friday evening at Lighthouse Baptist Church from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Nursery and Kidz Klub (for K-6th grade) are provided for those attending.

The First step in bringing about the victory in life that we wish for is accepting Jesus as our personal Savior. Then, we must come to the point of living by 12 core truths.

What Brought Me Here?

Have you ever heard of Waylon Prendergast? This Tampa, Florida man had been out drinking one night when he decided to rob a house on his way home. The drunken man forced his way into the house, filled a suitcase he found there with the valuables he discovered, and made his way to the living room.

In his stupor he decided it would be a good idea to set a fire to cover his tracks, so he ignited a blaze before making his way out the back door. Thinking he was home free, he continued on to his house — only to find three fire trucks parked outside fighting the blaze he had se to cover his theft…from his own home.

There is a reason the Bible describes alcoholic drinks (alcohol is a drug) and all other misuse of drugs as being deceitful. Our society has a significant problem with alcohol and drug misuse. No on starts out intending to become addicted, but, nonetheless, it happens. No one decides to bring on the “mess” that we often find ourselves involved in. No one wants to “need” a stubborn habit just to make it through the day, yet here we are. All of us have things in our lives that we didn’t necessarily plan, but often we find ourselves in a “crisis of consequences.” In other words, many of us are in bondage.

God’s grace, however never leads to bondage. Many of us may think we are in control of our alcohol or drug use; and sadly, it often takes a long time to realize the awful truth. By the time we understand the strength of the chains of addition that hold us, we are too heavily bound.

The Bible gives us truth. In Jeremiah 17:9 it says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Our hearts (our feelings) often lie to us. And those lies can quickly take us down a long road on which we never intended to travel.

But today is a new day! There is hope, Help and healing available to us as we listen to the words of wisdom and warning from the Bible, and it must start with being honest with ourselves.
